Normal recommendation for safe weight loss is to loose weight  gradually and steadily 1-2 pounds per week. 
Fast or sudden weight loss may cause loss of muscle, bone or water instead of fat.
Generally to loose 1-2 pounds, you need to burn 500 calories more than you consume or drink each day.

Activities that can burn 500 calories per day: (ref: research publications)
0. Jogging for 60 mins (at least a 5 mph space)
0. High intensity interval training 
0. Running for 30 minutes ( with at least an 8 mph space )
0. Swimming for 30 minutes 
0. 120 minutes of lawn mowing 
0. Hiking for 120 minutes 
0. 60 minutes of rock climbing 
0. Tennis for 1 hour
0. Strength training in 2 sessions 
0. Martial arts training 
0. Aerobics (50 minutes)
0. 1 hour of volleyball 
0. 75 minutes of bicycling 
0. Dancing for 60 minutes 
0. Horseback training for 120 minutes 
0. 45 minutes of spin class 
0. 1 hour of surfing 
0. 50 minutes on the stair climbing
0. 45-50 minutes of rowing machine
0. 50 minutes of jump rope
 21.  Keep moving as much as possible all the day
